केही मानिसहरूको समूहमा गरिएको सर्वेक्षणमा 550 जनाले खेलकुद, 600 जनाले संगीत, 350 जनाले दुवै मन पराए तर 200 जनाले यी दुई खेलकुद र संगीतमध्ये कुनै पनि मन पराएनन् ।

In a survey of group of people it was found that 550 of them liked sports, 600 liked music, 350 liked both of them and 200 did not like any of these two sports and music.

a) खेलकुद मन पराउने मानिसहरूको समूहलाई S र संगीत मन पराउने मानिसहरूको समूहलाई M मानी दुवै विधा मन पराउने मानिसहरूको समूहलाई गणनात्मक संकेतमा लेख्नुहोस् ।

By letting set of people who like sports as S and music as M, write the set of the people who liked both sports and music in cardinal notation.

b) माथिको तथ्यलाई भेन चित्रमा प्रस्तुत गर्नुहोस् ।

Present the above information in a Venn-diagram.

c) भेन चित्रको प्रयोग गरी सर्वेक्षणमा सहभागी जम्मा मानिसहरूको संख्या पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

Find the total number of people who participated in the survey using Venn diagram.

d) खेलकुद मात्र र संगीत मात्र मन पराउने मानिसहरूविच अनुपातमा तुलना गर्नुहोस् ।

Compare the number of people who liked only sports and only music in ratio.

अर्धवार्षिक चक्रीय व्याज दरले कुनै धनराशीको चकीय मिश्रधन १ वर्षमा रु. 400 र 2 वर्षमा रू. 441 हुन्छ ।

A sum of money amounts to Rs 400 in 1 year and Rs 441 in 2 years at the rate of semi-annual compound interest.

a) अर्धवार्षिक चक्रीय मिश्रधन निकाल्ने सूत्र लेख्नुहोस् ।

Write the formula for finding semi-annual compound amount.

b) अर्धवार्षिक चक्रीय व्याजदर गणना गर्नुहोस् ।

Calculate the rate of semi-annual compound interest.

c) सो मूलधनको उही व्याजदरमा हुने 3 वर्षको वार्षिक चक्रीय व्याज गणना गर्नुहोस् ।

Calculate the annually compound interest in 3 years of the same principal at the same rate of interest.

एउटा जग्गाको मूल्य रु.50,00,000 र एउटा घरको मूल्य रु.80,00,000 छन् । जग्गाको मूल्य प्रतिवर्ष 10% ले वृद्धि हुन्छ र घरको मूल्य प्रतिवर्ष 20% ले ह्रास हुन्छ ।

The cost of a land is Rs.50,00,000 and the cost of a house is Rs. 80,00,000. The cost of land increases by 10% p.a. and the cost of house decreases by 20% p.a.

a) सुरुको मूल्य रु. P र चक्रीय ह्रासदर R% प्रतिवर्ष भए T वर्षपछिको मूल्य \((P_T)\) पत्ता लगाउने सूत्र लेख्नुहोस् ।

Write the formula to find the price \((P_T)\) after T years if its initial price is Rs. P and the rate of compound depreciation is R% per annum.

b) 2 वर्षपछि घरको मूल्य कति हुन्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

What is the cost of house after 2 years? Find it.

c) 3 वर्षपछि उक्त जग्गा र घरको बिकीबाट कति नाफा वा नोक्सान हुन्छ ? तुलना गर्नुहोस् ।

How much profit or loss is made from selling the land and house after 3 years? Compare it.

नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकको मुद्रा विनिमय दर अनुसार कुनै समयमा अमेरिकी डलर 1 को खरिद दर ने.रु.113.92 र बिक्री दर ने.रु.114.72 थियो ।

According to the money exchange rate of Nepal Rastra Bank, the purchasing rate of 1 American dollar was NRs. 113.92 and the selling rate was NRs.114.72 in a certain time.

a) ने.रु.68,590 संग कति अमेरिकी डलर साट्न सकिन्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

How many American dollars can be exchanged with NRs.68,590? Find it.

b) नेपाली मुद्रामा 2% ले अवमूल्यन हुंदा अमेरिकी डलर 7500 संग कति नेपाली रुपियाँ साट्न सकिन्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

How much Nepali rupees can be exchanged with American dollar 7500 when Nepalese currency is devaluated by 2%? Find it.

c) यदि नेपाली मुद्रामा 2% ले अधिमूल्यन भएको भए अमेरिकी डलर 7500 संग नेपाली रुपियाँ साट्दा अवमूल्यन हुंदाको मूल्यभन्दा कति रुपैयाँ कम वा बढी हुन्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

If the Nepalese currency had revaluated by 2% and Nepali Rupees is exchanged with 7500 American dollar, how much rupees would be less or more than the value at the time of devaluation? Find it.

एउटा वर्गाकार आधार भएको पिरामिडको आधार भुजाको लम्बाई 10 मिटर र उचाइ 12 मिटर छ ।

A square based pyramid has its length of a side of base 10 meter and height 12 meter.

a) वर्गाकार आधार भएको पिरामिडको त्रिभुजाकार सतहहरूको क्षेत्रफल निकाल्ने सूत्र लेख्नुहोस् ।

Write the formula for finding the area of triangular surfaces of the pyramid.

b) उक्त पिरामिडको आयतन पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

Find the volume of the pyramid.

c) उक्त पिरामिडको पूरा सतहमा प्रतिवर्ग मिटर रु. 50 का दरले रङ लगाउन कति खर्च लाग्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

What will be the total cost of painting the total surface of the pyramid at the rate of Rs. 50 per square meter? Find it.

d) उक्त पिरामिडको आधारको क्षेत्रफल एउटा त्रिभुजाकार सतहको क्षेत्रफलभन्दा कतिले कम वा बढी हुन्छ ? तुलना गर्नुहोस् ।

By how much the area of the base of the pyramid is less or more than the area of a triangular surface? Compare it.

चित्रमा देखाइएको पानी ट्याइंकीको तल्लो भाग बेलनाकार र त्यसमाथिको भाग अर्धगोलाकार छ । उक्त ट्याइंकीको पूरा उचाई 13 मिटर र आधारको व्यास 14 मिटर छन् । \(\left[\pi = \frac{22}{7}\right]\)

A water tank as shown in the figure has its lower part cylindrical and upper part hemispherical. The total height of the tank is 13 m and the diameter of its base is 14 m. \(\left[\pi = \frac{22}{7}\right]\)

a) उक्त ट्याइंकीको आधारमा कुन ज्यामितीय आकृति बन्छ ? लेख्नुहोस् ।

Which geometric shape is formed on the base of the tank? Write it.

b) उक्त ट्याइंकीमा प्रति लिटर 50 पैसाका दरले पानी भर्न जम्मा कति खर्च लाग्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

How much does it cost to fill water in the tank at the rate of 50 paisa per liter? Find it.

एउटा सोली आकारको वस्तुको आधारको अर्धव्यास र ठाडो उचाई कमश: 7 से.मि. र 24 से.मि. छन् ।

The radius of the base and vertical height of a conical object are 7 cm and 24 cm respectively.

a) उक्त सोलीको बक्र सतहको क्षेत्रफल पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

Find the curved surface area of the cone.

b) उक्त सोलीको आयतन बढाउन के गर्न सकिन्छ ? उपयुक्त एउटा कारण दिनुहोस् ।

What can be done to increase the volume of the cone? Give a suitable reason.

एउटा ईंटा कारखानामा काम गर्ने कामदारहरूले हरेक दिन घाममा पङ्क्तिमा रहनेगरी ईंटा बिछ्याउंछन् । उनीहरूले पहिलो दिन पहिलो पङ्क्तिमा 300 ओटा ईंटा, दोस्रो दिन दोस्रो पङ्क्तिमा 320 ओटा ईंटा, तेस्रो दिन तेस्रो पङ्क्तिमा 340 ओटा ईंटा गरी एवम्रीतले हरेक दिन समान अन्तरमा बढाउँदै लगेछन् ।

The workers in a brick factory laid down bricks in rows every day in the sun. They laid 300 bricks in the first row in the first day, 320 bricks in the second row in the second day, 340 bricks in the third row in the third day and so on increasing in equal number.

a) उनीहरूले ईंटाहरू कुन अनुक्रममा बिछ्याएछन् ? लेख्नुहोस् ।

In which sequence did they lay down the bricks? Write it.

b) उनीहरूले 15 दिन भित्र जम्मा कतिवटा ईंटा बिछ्याउँछन् ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

How many total bricks will they lay down within 15 days? Find it.

c) पाँचौं पङ्क्तिसम्म र दोस्रो पङ्क्तिसम्म राखिएका ईंटाहरूको संख्या तुलना गर्नुहोस् ।

Compare the number of bricks laid down till the fifth rows and till the second rows.

दुई जना दाजु र भाइको हालको उमेरको योगफल 20 वर्ष छ । चार वर्ष अघि तिनीहरूको उमेरको संख्याको गुणनफल 48 थियो ।

The sum of present ages of two brothers is 20 years. Four years ago, the product of their ages in numbers was 48.

a) वर्ग समीकरणलाई परिभाषित गर्नुहोस् ।

Define quadratic equation.

b) उक्त सम्बन्धबाट बन्ने वर्ग समीकरण पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

Find the quadratic equation formed from the given statement.

c) यदि सम्भव छ भने तिनीहरूको हालको उमेर पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् । छैन भने कारण दिनुहोस् ।

If possible, find their present ages. If not, give reason.

a) सरल गर्नुहोस् (Simplify): \(\frac{m^3+1}{m^2-m+1} + \frac{m^3-1}{m^2+m+1}\)

b) हल गर्नुहोस् । (Solve): \(9^x - 10 \times 3^x + 9 = 0\)

दिइएको चित्रमा समानान्तर चतुर्भुज PQRS भित्र कुनै एउटा विन्दु X छ ।

In the given figure, X is any point within a parallelogram PQRS.

a) एउटै आधार र उही समानान्तर रेखाहरू बिच बनेका त्रिभुज र समानान्तर चतुर्भुजको क्षेत्रफलबीचको सम्बन्ध लेख्नुहोस् ।

Write the relationship between the area of triangle and a parallelogram standing on the same base and between the same parallel lines.

b) के \(\triangle PQX\) र \(\triangle RSX\) को क्षेत्रफल सधै बराबर हुन्छन् ? कारण दिनुहोस् ।

Are the areas of \(\triangle PQX\) and \(\triangle RSX\) always equal? Give reason.

c) चतुर्भुज ABCD को रचना गर्नुहोस् । जहाँ, \(AB = 5.1\) से.मि., \(BC = 4.9\) से.मि., \(CD = 5.5\) से.मि., \(DA = 6.1\) से.मि., र \(BD = 5.3\) से.मि. छन् । उक्त चतुर्भुजको क्षेत्रफलसँग बराबर हुने गरी एउटा त्रिभुजको पनि रचना गर्नुहोस् ।

Construct a quadrilateral ABCD with \(AB = 5.1\) cm, \(BC = 4.9\) cm, \(CD = 5.5\) cm, \(DA = 6.1\) cm and \(BD = 5.3\) cm. Also, construct a triangle whose area is equal to the area of the quadrilateral.

चित्रमा चतुर्भुज PTRS मा TS को मध्यबिन्दु O छ र समानान्तर चतुर्भुज PORS को क्षेत्रफल 22 वर्ग से.मि. छ । PO मा M कुनै एउटा विन्दु छ ।

In the figure, O is the mid point of TS in a quadrilateral PTRS and area of the parallelogram PORS is 22 sq.cm. M is any point on PO.

a) \(\triangle PSO\) र \(\triangle SMR\) को क्षेत्रफल कति हुन्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

What is the area of \(\triangle PSO\) and \(\triangle SMR\)? Find it.

b) समानान्तर चतुर्भुज PORS को क्षेत्रफलसँग बराबर हुने कुनै एउटा त्रिभुजको नाम कारणसहित लेख्नुहोस् ।

Write any one name of the triangle with reason whose area is equal to the area of parallelogram PORS.

चित्रमा वृत्तको केन्द्रबिन्दु O छ । जहाँ, \(\angle RQT = 60^\circ\), \(\angle PSR = x\) र \(\angle POR = y\) छन् ।

In the figure, O is the centre of the circle. Where, \(\angle RQT = 60^\circ\), \(\angle PSR = x\) and \(\angle POR = y\).

a) चाप PQR मा बनेको केन्द्रीय कोणको नाम लेख्नुहोस् ।

Write the name of central angle standing on the arc PQR.

b) \(x\) को मान पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

Find the value of \(x\).

c) चक्रीय चतुर्भुज PQRS का सम्मुख कोणहरू \(\angle PQR\) र \(\angle PSR\) परिपूरक हुन्छन् भनी प्रयोगात्मक विधिबाट परीक्षण गर्नुहोस् । (कम्तिमा 3 से.मि. अर्धव्यास भएका दुईवटा वृत्तहरू आवश्यक छन् ।)

Verify experimentally that opposite angles \(\angle PQR\) and \(\angle PSR\) of the cyclic quadrilateral PQRS are supplementary. (Two circles having at least 3 cm radii are necessary.)

एउटा रुख कुनै ठाउँबाट हावाले भाँचिएर नछुट्टिएको अवस्थामा टुप्पोले जमिनमा छुंदा जमिनसंग \(60^\circ\) को कोण बनेको छ । उक्त रुखको भाँचिएको भागको लम्बाई 20 मिटर छ ।

When a tree is broken by the wind from somewhere without detaching and its top touches the ground making an angle of \(60^\circ\) with the ground. The length of broken part of the tree is 20 meter.

a) उन्नतांश कोणलाई परिभाषित गर्नुहोस् ।

Define the angle of elevation.

b) भाँचिएपछि रुखको टुप्पो र फेदविचको दूरी कति हुन्छ ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

What is the distance between top and bottom of the tree after broken? Find it.

c) भाँचिनुपूर्व रुखको उचाइ कति थियो ? पत्ता लगाउनुहोस् ।

What was the height of the tree before it was broken? Find it.

d) उक्त रुख भाँचिदा बाँकी रहेको भागसँग टुप्पो र फेदविचको दूरी बराबर भएको भए जमिनसँग कति डिग्रीको कोण बन्थ्यो ? उपयुक्त तर्कसहित लेख्नुहोस् ।

If the distance between the top and the bottom of the tree was equal to the remaining part of the tree when broken, how many degrees of angle would it make with the ground? Write with suitable argument.

एउटा समुदायमा बस्ने 20 जना मानिसहरूको उमेरसमूह तल तालिकामा दिइएको छ ।

Are the class of median and the class of third quartile of the given data same? Give reason.

एउटा भोलामा 5 वटा सेता र 3 वटा राता उस्तै र उत्रै वलहरू छन् । दुईवटा वलहरू एकपछि अर्को गरी पुन : नराखीकन छिकिएका छन् ।

There are 5 white and 3 red balls of the same shape and size in a bag. Two balls are drawn randomly one after another without replacement.

a) सम्भाव्यताको अधिकतम् मान कति हुन्छ ? लेख्नुहोस् ।

What is the maximum value of probability? Write it.

b) सबै सम्भावित परिणामहरूको सम्भाव्यतालाई वृक्षचित्रमा देखाउनुहोस् ।

In which condition, the probability of an event is zero (0)? Justify with example.
